Managing several prop challenge accounts can become increasingly complex when the accounts use different balances, MetaTrader platforms, brokers, symbol names or risk requirements.
A trade copier can simplify the operational side by allowing trading activity from one Transmitter account to be synchronized with one or more Receiver accounts.
However, copying the same trades does not mean that every Receiver should necessarily use the same lot size, symbols, trade filters or risk settings.
Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© allows each Receiver to be configured independently, so multiple prop challenge accounts can follow the same underlying trading activity while maintaining account-specific execution and risk-management settings.
This guide explains how to structure and configure a multi-account prop challenge copier setup with MT4 and MT5.
Important: Before configuring a multi-account evaluation setup, review the prop firm challenge rules that traders should check before copying trades, including restrictions on automated trading, multiple accounts and synchronized positions.
A typical setup consists of one trading account acting as the Transmitter and one or more prop challenge accounts acting as Receivers.
For example:
Trading / Transmitter Account
↓
Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5©
↓
Challenge Account 1 — Receiver
Challenge Account 2 — Receiver
Challenge Account 3 — Receiver
Trades opened or managed on the Transmitter can then be synchronized with the selected Receiver accounts according to the settings configured on each Receiver.
The important distinction is that the Transmitter determines the trading activity, while each Receiver can determine how that activity is applied to its own account.
A Receiver can therefore use its own:
Lot-sizing method
Risk calculation
Symbol configuration
Trade filters
Buy/Sell direction settings
Pending-order settings
TP/SL configuration
Trading days and times
Daily drawdown controls
Daily profit controls
Account-protection settings
The trading signal can be identical. The financial exposure does not have to be.
Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© is a local trade copier.
All participating MetaTrader terminals must therefore run on the same Windows computer or Windows VPS.
For example, a single Windows VPS could contain:
MetaTrader terminal for the Transmitter account
MetaTrader terminal for Challenge Account 1
MetaTrader terminal for Challenge Account 2
MetaTrader terminal for Challenge Account 3
Local Trade Copier EA then communicates between these locally installed MetaTrader terminals.
This should not be confused with a cloud-based copier designed to transmit trades between MetaTrader terminals running on separate remote computers or separate VPSs.
For multi-account setups, make sure the Windows computer or VPS has sufficient CPU, RAM and storage resources for the number of MetaTrader terminals being operated.

Local Trade Copier EA is available for both MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 and can support:
MT4 → MT4
MT5 → MT5
MT4 → MT5 *
MT5 → MT4 *
* Cross-platform MT4 ↔ MT5 copying requires both Local Trade Copier EA MT4© and Local Trade Copier EA MT5©.
This can be useful when different challenge accounts do not use the same MetaTrader platform.
For example, a trader could have an MT5 Transmitter and Receiver accounts operating on both MT5 and MT4, provided the appropriate LTC versions are installed.
The first step is to determine which MetaTrader account will provide the trading activity.
This becomes the Transmitter account.
The Transmitter can send trading activity generated by:
Manual trading
Expert Advisors
Other automated trading systems
The other participating accounts are configured as Receivers.
Depending on the intended setup, you can also operate multiple Transmitters and multiple Receivers within the same local Windows environment.
For a straightforward multi-account challenge setup, however, the easiest structure to understand is usually:
One Transmitter → Multiple Receivers
Each Receiver can then be configured independently.
Each participating trading account should run in its own MetaTrader terminal installation.
For example:
Terminal 1: Transmitter Account
Terminal 2: Challenge Account 1
Terminal 3: Challenge Account 2
Terminal 4: Challenge Account 3
Install Local Trade Copier EA on the appropriate chart in each terminal and configure its operating mode according to whether that terminal is acting as a Transmitter or Receiver.
If the accounts use both MT4 and MT5, install the corresponding LTC version in each platform.
Receiver accounts must have normal trading permission. A Receiver cannot operate through an investor/read-only password because it needs permission to open, modify and close trades.
A Transmitter, however, can be operated using an investor/read-only password when appropriate.
This is one of the most important parts of a multi-account prop challenge setup.
Do not assume that because several accounts follow the same Transmitter they must all use identical Receiver settings.
Consider three Receiver accounts:
Challenge Account 1 → $10,000 → Fixed lot sizing
Challenge Account 2 → $25,000 → Balance/equity proportional sizing
Challenge Account 3 → $50,000 → Independent risk-based sizing
These are configuration examples rather than recommended risk levels.
Each Receiver can also have different trade filters, symbol mappings, trading schedules and account-protection settings.
This allows the copying configuration to reflect the characteristics of the individual account rather than simply duplicating the Transmitter configuration.
Copying the Transmitter's original lot size is only one possible approach.
Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© provides 18 lot-sizing and risk-management methods, allowing Receiver volume to be calculated according to different requirements.
These include methods based on:
Fixed lot sizes
Lot multipliers
Account balance
Account equity
Risk calculations
Minimum lot limits
Maximum lot limits
This becomes particularly important when Receiver accounts have different sizes.
Suppose, for example, that the Transmitter account has a balance of $10,000 while the Receivers have balances of $10,000, $25,000 and $50,000.
Copying the exact same lot size to all three accounts is technically possible, but it does not necessarily create equivalent financial exposure relative to each account.
An appropriate Receiver lot-sizing method can instead be selected independently for each account.
Transmitter: $10,000
Receiver 1: $10,000
Possible approach: fixed, multiplier or proportional sizing.
Receiver 2: $25,000
Possible approach: proportional sizing or an independent risk calculation.
Receiver 3: $50,000
Possible approach: proportional sizing or an independent risk calculation.
The purpose of these options is to provide configuration flexibility. They should not be interpreted as recommended risk percentages or position sizes.

Different prop challenge accounts may use different broker environments.
The same market does not always have the same MetaTrader symbol name across those accounts.
Before starting trade copying, compare the symbols available on the Transmitter and every Receiver.
If both accounts use:
EURUSD → EURUSD
no suffix configuration is required.
For:
EURUSD+ → EURUSD
configure on the Receiver:
Suffix of the Transmitter Account: +
For:
EURUSD → EURUSD.r
configure:
Suffix of the Receiver Account: .r
For:
EURUSDm → EURUSDm
configure:
Suffix of the Transmitter Account: m
and:
Suffix of the Receiver Account: m
When the instruments have substantially different names, use Special Symbol mapping.
For example:
US500 → SPX500
configure:
Special Symbol 1: US500,SPX500
This allows the Receiver to identify the corresponding instrument when the two accounts use different symbol names.
Remember that symbol mapping does not make two brokers' trading conditions identical. Contract specifications, lot limits, lot steps, spreads, prices and trading sessions can still differ.
Not every Receiver necessarily needs to copy every Transmitter trade.
Local Trade Copier EA provides trade-selection filters that can be configured independently for each Receiver.
Depending on the setup, trades can be selected according to characteristics such as:
Symbol
Magic number
Comment
Ticket
Buy/Sell direction
Trading time
Trading day
Trade volume
This can be useful when one Transmitter generates several types of trading activity but individual Receiver accounts should follow only selected trades.
For example, one Receiver might be configured for selected symbols while another uses different trading-time restrictions.
A multi-account copier should manage more than initial trade entries.
Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© can synchronize different parts of the trade lifecycle, including:
Market trade opening
Pending orders
Stop Loss
Take Profit
Trade modifications
Partial closures
Full closures
Pending-order deletion
Pending orders can either be copied to Receiver accounts or configured to open as market trades when the corresponding pending order is triggered on the Transmitter.
Execution prices can differ between the Transmitter and Receiver.
When Keep Original TP/SL Distances is used, the Receiver TP/SL can be adjusted so that its point distance from the Receiver's actual opening price corresponds to the original point distance between the Transmitter's opening price and its TP/SL.
This can be useful when the accounts receive different execution prices.
Each challenge account can have its own protection settings.
Depending on the configuration, Receiver-side controls can include:
Daily drawdown limits
Daily profit limits
Equity protection
Account profit/loss controls
Minimum and maximum lot sizes
Trading/copying restrictions
Automatic copying suspension
Email and push notifications
These controls are particularly useful in multi-account configurations because one Receiver reaching a configured threshold does not mean that every other Receiver has the same balance, equity or risk situation.
Each account can therefore be managed according to its own settings.
Account-protection settings should be treated as risk-management tools, not guarantees that an account cannot exceed a particular loss or drawdown level.
Market gaps, price movements, slippage, broker execution, spreads and other trading conditions can affect actual results.
The settings should also not be assumed to reproduce a prop firm's own rule calculations exactly.
Always understand both the LTC setting being used and the provider's method for calculating its limits.
This step is essential.
A trade copier being technically capable of synchronizing accounts does not mean that every prop challenge provider permits every type of copying arrangement.
Before using a copier, check the provider's current official terms concerning:
Trade copying
Expert Advisors
Automated trading
Multiple accounts
Identical trades
Third-party signals or strategies
News trading
Overnight/weekend positions
Daily loss limits
Maximum drawdown
Maximum position sizes
Prohibited trading practices
Rules can differ between providers and may also differ between evaluation and funded-account stages.
They can change over time.
Always verify the current rules directly with the relevant provider rather than assuming that a configuration permitted elsewhere is also permitted on your account.

Before using the configuration with an active prop challenge, test the setup on MetaTrader demo accounts.
Check:
Are trades copied to the intended Receivers?
Are the correct symbols being used?
Are lot sizes calculated as expected?
Are Buy and Sell trades handled correctly?
Are pending orders handled according to your settings?
Are TP and SL levels copied as intended?
Are modifications synchronized?
Do partial and full closures work as expected?
Are trade filters working correctly?
Are trading-time restrictions correct?
Are Receiver protection settings configured as intended?
Testing is especially important when accounts use different MetaTrader versions, different brokers or different symbol names.

Consider the following setup:
MT5 account used for the original trading activity.
MT5 Receiver
$10,000 balance
Fixed lot configuration
Same broker symbol names
MT5 Receiver
$25,000 balance
Balance/equity proportional configuration
Receiver symbol suffix
MT4 Receiver
$50,000 balance
Independent risk-based configuration
Different broker and Special Symbol mapping
All four MetaTrader terminals run on the same Windows VPS.
When a qualifying trade is opened on the Transmitter, Local Trade Copier EA communicates that trading activity to the Receivers.
Each Receiver then handles the trade according to its own configuration.
The result is not necessarily three identical positions. Instead, it can be three positions derived from the same Transmitter activity but adapted to the platform, account size, broker and settings of each Receiver.
That distinction is central to managing a multi-account trade-copying environment.
Before starting:
Verify that your intended trade-copying setup is permitted by each prop challenge provider.
Install every participating MetaTrader terminal on the same Windows computer or Windows VPS.
Install the appropriate LTC MT4 and/or MT5 version.
Select the Transmitter and Receiver accounts.
Confirm that Receiver accounts have trading permission.
Compare symbol names between accounts.
Configure Transmitter/Receiver suffixes or Special Symbol mappings where required.
Select the appropriate lot-sizing method for each Receiver.
Configure trade-selection filters.
Configure pending-order and TP/SL handling.
Set Receiver-specific daily and account-protection controls.
Check trading days and times.
Test the complete configuration on demo accounts.
Confirm that entries, modifications and closures behave as expected before using the setup with an active challenge account.
The main advantage of a multi-account trade copier is not simply the ability to reproduce an entry across several accounts.
For prop challenge setups, the more important capability is often the ability to control how each Receiver handles that trading activity.
Different challenge accounts can use different balances, platforms, brokers, symbols, lot-sizing methods, trade filters and account-protection settings while remaining part of the same local copying environment.
Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© provides the tools to configure these differences independently for every Receiver.
The trading signal can be identical. The financial exposure does not have to be.
Using a trade copier with prop challenge accounts involves more than synchronizing trade entries. Account sizes, broker specifications, symbol names, lot-sizing requirements, risk limits and trading rules can all differ between evaluation accounts.
Our prop challenge trade copier guides explore these subjects in greater detail, with practical information about multi-account trade synchronization, Receiver risk management, challenge rules and MT4/MT5 trade copier configuration.
