This guide explains how to install and configure Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© for copying trades between MetaTrader prop challenge accounts running on the same Windows computer or Windows VPS.
A typical setup uses one MetaTrader account as the Transmitter and one or more challenge accounts as Receivers.
The Transmitter provides the original trading activity, while each Receiver can be configured independently for its own lot sizing, trade filters, broker symbols, TP/SL handling, trading schedule and account-protection settings.
Before using a trade copier with an evaluation or funded account, always verify that your intended setup is permitted under the current rules of the relevant provider.
Before installing Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© for your challenge accounts, check the following.
Check the current rules of every prop challenge provider whose account you intend to connect.
In particular, verify the policies concerning:
Expert Advisors
Automated trading
Trade copying
Multiple accounts
Identical or synchronized trades
Third-party signals or strategies
Other relevant trading restrictions
Technical compatibility does not determine whether a particular copying arrangement is permitted.

All MetaTrader terminals participating in the Local Trade Copier EA setup must run on the same Windows computer or the same Windows VPS.
For example:
Transmitter MT5 Terminal
↓
Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5©
↓
Challenge Receiver 1
Challenge Receiver 2
Challenge Receiver 3
All of these terminals must be installed and running in the same Windows environment.
Use the following combinations:
MT4 → MT4: Local Trade Copier EA MT4©
MT5 → MT5: Local Trade Copier EA MT5©
MT4 → MT5: Local Trade Copier EA MT4© + Local Trade Copier EA MT5©
MT5 → MT4: Local Trade Copier EA MT5© + Local Trade Copier EA MT4©
If your challenge setup contains both MT4 and MT5 terminals, you need both versions.
The Receiver account must be logged in with its normal trading password and have permission to trade.
An investor/read-only login cannot be used for a Receiver because the Receiver needs to open, modify and close trades.
A Transmitter can use investor/read-only access where appropriate because it only needs to provide the original trading information.
Before configuring the copier, compare the symbol names used by the Transmitter and Receiver accounts.
For example:
EURUSD → EURUSD
EURUSD+ → EURUSD
EURUSD → EURUSD.r
EURUSDm → EURUSDm
US500 → SPX500
If the names differ, configure the appropriate Receiver suffix or Special Symbol settings as explained later in this guide.
Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© is available through the MQL5 Market.
Local Trade Copier EA MT4© — MQL5 Market
Local Trade Copier EA MT5© — MQL5 Market
Choose the version required by the MetaTrader terminals in your challenge-account setup.
If you are copying between MT4 and MT5, both versions are required.
Open the MetaTrader terminal where you want to install Local Trade Copier EA.
Go to:
Tools → Options → Community
Log in with the same MQL5 account used to purchase Local Trade Copier EA.
Important: Use your MQL5 account login/username, not your email address.
Then locate your purchase.
Go to:
Terminal → Market → Purchased
Go to:
Navigator → Market → Purchases
Find Local Trade Copier EA MT4© or Local Trade Copier EA MT5© and click Install.
Repeat this procedure in every MetaTrader terminal that will participate in the copying setup.
Important: MQL5 Market purchases must be installed through your MQL5 account in each terminal. Copying and pasting the purchased EX4/EX5 file between terminals will not work.
Each Transmitter and Receiver account should run in its own MetaTrader terminal.
For a basic two-account configuration:
Terminal 1 = Transmitter
The account you copy trades from.
Terminal 2 = Receiver
The challenge account you copy trades to.
For multiple challenge accounts:
Terminal 1 = Transmitter
Terminal 2 = Challenge Receiver 1
Terminal 3 = Challenge Receiver 2
Terminal 4 = Challenge Receiver 3
and so on.
If several accounts use the same broker, install additional copies of the broker's MT4 or MT5 terminal and select a different installation folder for each installation.
Whenever possible, use the MetaTrader terminal supplied by the broker associated with the trading account.
Remember that all participating terminals must run on the same Windows computer or Windows VPS.
Once Local Trade Copier EA is installed in the required terminals, configure the account roles.
Open any chart in the Transmitter terminal and attach Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© from the Navigator window.
Select:
Account Mode: Transmitter
The Transmitter is the account from which the original trading activity will be copied.
Open any chart in the Receiver terminal and attach Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5©.
Select:
Account Mode: Receiver
Then enter the Transmitter account number in:
Transmitter Account Number
This tells the Receiver which Transmitter account it should follow.
If you have several challenge Receiver accounts, repeat this procedure in each Receiver terminal.
Make sure:
Auto Trading in MT4
or:
Algo Trading in MT5
is enabled in the participating terminals.
For your initial setup, keep the configuration simple. Configure the required lot-sizing method and any essential symbol settings first, then test the basic connection before adding more advanced filters or protection rules.
One of the most important parts of a multi-account challenge setup is deciding how each Receiver should calculate its copied position size.
Do not assume that every Receiver should use the Transmitter's original lot size.
Challenge accounts may have different:
Balances
Equity levels
Broker specifications
Risk requirements
Minimum and maximum lot sizes
Volume steps
Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© provides 18 lot-sizing and risk-management methods, allowing each Receiver to be configured independently.
Available approaches include:
Fixed lot sizing
Lot multipliers
Balance-proportional sizing
Equity-proportional sizing
Risk-based calculations
Minimum and maximum lot controls
For example, a $10,000 Receiver and a $100,000 Receiver can follow the same Transmitter activity without necessarily opening the same position size.
The trading signal can be identical. The financial exposure does not have to be.
Select the required method in the Receiver's:
Lot Size Type
setting and configure the corresponding parameters.

Different challenge accounts can use different brokers, and different brokers may use different names for equivalent instruments.
Before testing the copier, compare the exact symbols shown in the Transmitter and Receiver Market Watch windows.
If both accounts use exactly the same symbol:
EURUSD → EURUSD
no suffix configuration is required.
If the Transmitter uses:
EURUSD+ → EURUSD
enter in the Receiver Local Trade Copier EA settings:
Suffix of the Transmitter Account: +
If the setup is:
EURUSD → EURUSD.r
enter:
Suffix of the Receiver Account: .r
If both use:
EURUSDm → EURUSDm
enter:
Suffix of the Transmitter Account: m
and:
Suffix of the Receiver Account: m
If the corresponding instruments use substantially different names, use the Special Symbol settings.
For example:
US500 → SPX500
configure:
Special Symbol 1: US500,SPX500
This explicit configuration makes the intended Transmitter-to-Receiver symbol relationship clear.
Symbol mapping does not make the underlying broker conditions identical. Different accounts can still have different:
Contract specifications
Minimum and maximum lots
Lot steps
Spreads
Execution prices
Trading hours
Always verify the relevant instrument specifications and test the configuration before relying on it with an active challenge account.
After the basic connection, lot sizing and symbols are configured correctly, review the risk-management settings for each challenge Receiver.
Different Receiver accounts can use different settings.
Depending on your configuration, these can include:
Daily drawdown controls
Daily profit controls
Equity/account protection
Minimum and maximum lot controls
Trading days
Trading times
Symbol filters
Magic-number filters
Comment filters
Buy/Sell direction controls
TP/SL handling
Copying suspension conditions
Do not simply copy the same settings to every Receiver without considering the individual account.
A provider may calculate daily loss or maximum drawdown according to its own rules involving factors such as balance, equity, floating P/L, reset times or other conditions.
Local Trade Copier EA's protection settings are configurable risk-management tools.
They should not be interpreted as a guarantee that a prop provider's corresponding limit cannot be exceeded.
Understand the provider's calculation separately and configure the Receiver according to your intended risk-management plan.
Read: Prop Firm Challenge Risk Management: How to Protect Multiple Evaluation Accounts →
Do not rely on the configuration with an active prop challenge until you have tested how it behaves.
Whenever practical, test the intended configuration first using MetaTrader demo accounts.
Open a small trade on the Transmitter.
Confirm that the corresponding trade appears on the Receiver.
Then close the Transmitter trade and verify that the copied Receiver position also closes.
Confirm that every Receiver opens the intended volume.
If several Receivers use different lot-sizing methods, test each one separately.
If your strategy uses pending orders, confirm that they are handled according to your selected configuration.
Local Trade Copier EA can copy pending orders directly or, depending on the selected settings, avoid copying the pending order itself and copy the resulting position as a market trade when the original pending order is triggered on the Transmitter.
Verify initial Stop Loss and Take Profit handling and subsequent modifications.
Partially close a Transmitter position and confirm that the Receiver responds as intended.
If you use symbol, magic-number, comment, direction, time or other filters, confirm that permitted trades are copied and excluded trades remain excluded.
Test every broker symbol difference you have configured.
Do not assume that because EURUSD works, a differently named index or metal is also configured correctly.
Verify how the Receiver behaves when your configured protection conditions are reached.
If several challenge accounts are connected, confirm that every Receiver behaves according to its own settings.
The purpose of testing is to identify configuration or technical problems before relying on the setup with an active evaluation account.
For a basic configuration:
1. Install the required Local Trade Copier EA MT4© and/or MT5© version.
2. Install a separate MetaTrader terminal for every Transmitter and Receiver account.
3. Keep all participating terminals on the same Windows computer or Windows VPS.
4. Attach Local Trade Copier EA to one chart in each terminal.
5. Set the source account to:
Account Mode: Transmitter
6. Set each challenge account to:
Account Mode: Receiver
7. Enter the correct:
Transmitter Account Number
in every Receiver.
8. Configure the appropriate Receiver lot-sizing method.
9. Configure symbol suffixes or Special Symbols where required.
10. Configure the required Receiver risk controls.
11. Enable Auto Trading / Algo Trading.
12. Test the complete configuration before relying on it with an active challenge account.
Quick Setup Video
The Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© Quick Setup Video demonstrates:
Basic Transmitter and Receiver configuration.
Configuring accounts that use different broker symbol suffixes.
Configuring instruments whose Transmitter and Receiver names are substantially different.
If the first test does not work, check these basic items:
1. Is Local Trade Copier EA attached and running in both terminals?
2. Is one EA configured as Transmitter and the other as Receiver?
3. Is the correct Transmitter Account Number entered in the Receiver?
4. Is Auto Trading / Algo Trading enabled?
5. Is the Receiver logged in with its normal trading password rather than an investor/read-only password?
6. Have you checked whether the Transmitter and Receiver use different symbol names?
7. Check the Receiver terminal's Experts and Journal tabs for the actual messages or errors reported.
Do not assume the cause of an error without first checking the available diagnostic information.

After installing Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5©, you can optionally configure MetaTrader to send email and push notifications.
Depending on the notification settings you enable in Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5©, you can receive notifications about copied trades, account information and configured account-protection or emergency conditions.
These notifications are optional and are not required for trade copying to work.
In your MT4 or MT5 terminal, go to:
Tools → Options → Email
Enable email notifications and enter the SMTP details for your email provider.
You will normally need to enter:
SMTP Server: Your email provider's outgoing SMTP server and port.
SMTP Login: Your full email address, for example:
johnsmith@gmail.com
SMTP Password: The App Password or other SMTP password required by your email provider.
From: Your sender email address.
To: The email address where you want to receive the notifications.
Some commonly used SMTP settings are:
Gmail: smtp.gmail.com:465 or smtp.gmail.com:587
Outlook/Hotmail: smtp-mail.outlook.com:587
Yahoo: smtp.mail.yahoo.com:465
iCloud: smtp.mail.me.com:587
Mail.com: smtp.mail.com:465
Zoho Mail: smtp.zoho.com:465
GMX: smtp.gmx.com:465
Your email provider may change its SMTP or security requirements, so if these settings do not work, check the current SMTP instructions provided by your email service.
Many email providers no longer allow applications such as MetaTrader to sign in using your normal account password.
If MetaTrader cannot send email even though your SMTP settings are correct, your email provider may require an App Password.
An App Password is a separate password generated specifically for applications such as MetaTrader. Your normal email password remains unchanged.
For Gmail, you normally need to have 2-Step Verification enabled before you can create an App Password.
1. Sign in to your Google Account.
2. Make sure 2-Step Verification is enabled.
3. Open the App Passwords section of your Google Account.
4. Create a new App Password for MetaTrader.
5. Copy the generated App Password.
Then return to:
MetaTrader → Tools → Options → Email
and enter:
SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com:587
SMTP Login: Your full Gmail address
SMTP Password: Your generated App Password
From: Your email address
To: The email address where you want to receive notifications
Do not enter your normal Gmail password in the SMTP Password field when Google requires an App Password.
After entering your details, click Test in MetaTrader's Email settings.
Then open:
Terminal/Toolbox → Journal
If the configuration is working correctly, MetaTrader should report that the test email was sent.
If the test fails, check:
The SMTP server and port
Your full email address
The App Password
That no spaces were accidentally copied before or after the password
Your email provider's current SMTP and security requirements
Once the MetaTrader email test works, Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© can use MetaTrader's email functionality for the email notifications you enable in the EA settings.
Push notifications allow Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© to send notifications from your desktop MetaTrader terminal to the MetaTrader mobile app on your phone or tablet.
In your desktop MT4 or MT5 terminal, go to:
Tools → Options → Notifications
Enable push notifications and enter your MetaQuotes ID.
Open the MetaTrader mobile app on your phone or tablet and go to:
Settings → Messages
Your MetaQuotes ID is displayed there.
Enter this ID in:
Desktop MetaTrader → Tools → Options → Notifications
You can then use the Test button to send a test notification to your mobile device.
If the test notification appears on your phone or tablet, your MetaTrader push notifications are configured correctly.
If you enable transaction push notifications inside Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5©, do not also enable MetaTrader's:
Notify of trade transactions
option.
Otherwise, you may receive two notifications for the same trading transaction.
Use either the notification functionality configured through Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© or MetaTrader's general trade-transaction notification option according to your preference.
